World Awareness Week 2017

 

Every year, John Brown University has a week devoted to celebrating the diversity, cultures, and uniqueness of the world we live in. Student Ministries Leadership Team (SMLT), a team I am a director on, is in charge of coordinating all the events for the week.

I was tasked with creating a graphic theme to fit our theme of "Embracing Hope". I didn't want to portray a cliché hope look. Hope is not something that is this warm fuzzy feeling you get when things are going well, but rather a constant realization that we can have hope and confidence because of the goodness and consistency of Christ.

This is the poster series I developed. The world is constructed out of thin lines, mimicking they way that we are connected, especially with technological advances that have allowed for communication. The idea was a subtle encouragement to use communication to share hope through the minimal line design.
