Whimsical Spring

 

I developed this pattern after taking a Shareskill class at Outdoor Cap with Jessica Olwen. I loved learning about the process of creating a seamless pattern.

I started with sketches of flowers and developing a motif and concept. I was thinking of a soft color palette and imagining a whimsical and fun pattern.

I then traced my sketches into illustrator and then situated all the individual characters. I created a hero pattern with all the visual motifs, then creates secondary and tertiary patterns to work with the main hero pattern. I present Whimsical Spring.
