Hidden Beauty in the Deep
I enjoy using a limited amount of colors to illustrate. This is a series of illustrations using bright colors against a dark background. Using a limited color palette creates a challenge of showing depth and detail with the few options you have. I love how limitation itself actually brings more choices, perspective, and depth to the images created.

I started this project with the diving mask. I wanted to find things that are hidden in the deep and are unseen. I think there is great beauty in things that are often forgotten, overlooked stories and experiences that are untold. I wanted to find pictures of the items hidden in the depths of the sea and see what stories they have to tell. I wanted to share their stories in a new, fresh light that is applicable to the current era, yet still maintains the stories that only wear, scuffs, experience, and time can tell.
